Default Magnetic Drain Plug .. evolution

For those who just have to read, analyze, ponder, and comment on minutia....

I just changed my oil at 84K miles this weekend and noticed something evolving with my magnetic drain plug....... it is collecting less and less goo. This time, I could see the silver and it was covered with a very thin layer of slime. When I installed this.... oh around 30K miles, I would get a thick layer of black goo... I suspect it is super-fine metal particulates suspended in oil. With each oil change, the residue becomes less and less.

Why? dunno.

Peace

same here.

after a couple of track events in mid summer it still gets a lot of dark goo, but, from a regular driving - not so much, just a silver dust. I hope it will stay like that, and as I do less and less number of events maybe my car will live longer.
