Fuel or spark. Off the top of my head I'd look at the fuel pump. Could also be the crank sensor.
Take it to the shop.

I'd see if you can buy a diagnostic tool, and read the error codes

what is the one everyone recommends?- durametric?

Do you have a shop you can take it to that can measure Fuel pressure and also your spark? I would do that before changing the fuel pump. It's a big job and may not be the issue. I'm not a mechanic after all... just some guy on a forum with a hunch.

Hey... me too!

OP: do you have a Porsche club in your area? If so, someone may have a Durametric diagnostic tool that can both check and supply definitions of any "hidden codes" (those that don't trip the dash light). You can also track live values such as pressures and the like and capture this information as the car stalls. Could be very very valuable to you and very easy to do.

Good luck and post your journey. Also, post at Renntech.

Peace

Seriously., before you go and spend money randomly why not take it to a specialist for them to diagnose?
