I am thinking of installing a WI FI backup/rear view camera on my 997 Cab. I would like to find a keyed source in the engine compartment that way I could use the cam as backup cam or rear view (esp in a Cab). If I have to run into the passenger compartment to get power I will just go ahead and use a hard wired system. If this has been covered please send me to it, I have use every combination I could think of in search.

Why would you need a back up camera? When I get into my car I walk around it so I know if something is behind me that I can't see from inside the car. Then I look over my shoulder as I back up. It has worked for over a century of automotive engineering.

The camera should stay on, 24-7. No need for a switched supply.
