Any brand of gasoline better than the others?

Do you know which additives are in Costco gas? I asked and had no reply. Also, Costco's gas supplier varies from Costco store to Costco store - in other words one gets standard gas with unknown additive content. Porsche, and others, specifically recommend Top Tier brands due to their higher grade additive content.
I am not making a my-gas-choice-is-better-than-yours thread - just honestly answering the OP's question. Those who own a high priced car and elect to save money in gas when driving it, and sneer at those who seek better gas choices, it is their prerrogative and good luck to them.

Costco has been known to have very high quality gas, that's old news. Sounds like you have Costco and Citgo confused.
It's not "budget gas". Even though it is priced better. I don't remember who did the research about gas ratings, but Costco graded quite high, I don't recall , but I'll bet one of these other guys in this forum will find the link.

generally speaking, the responses here are accurate. I could make a good case for top tier being just another marketing ploy perpetrated by(and profiting) GM, but it's not worthy of debate.
What's in the pipelines is regulated as mentioned, and some people are surprised to find out that fuel purchased from one brand may have been refined by another competing brand. It's the nature of fuel logistics here in the U.S.

One of our firm's fuel consultants advised me to use only top-tier gas based on quality issues and their choices of additive packages. Our company blends motor oils, among other things, so the whole add pack and base stock discussion made sense. few misfires after a forced fill up at an off brand station(middle of nowhere, no other choices) solidified that advice.

I use Shell as we get 4x fuel savings points on Shell gift cards @ Kroger. We then use the points to save at Kroger fuel stations, which is where we fill up the wife's Honda Ridgeline, our DD. On average, we save about 10 - 15 bucks per fill up. So, we save a few bucks, and I get to use the cards to buy Shell 93 octane V-Power octane for my unicorn. Win win!!

They all do.... its governed by our government and piped all through the USA in bulk to storage facilities in massive tanks. Then you just watch the tanker trucks pull up with all their different logos........ then they drive over to the storage tanks with the additives and drop in a coupla hundred gallons of whatever. The gas is the same.... the exact same.
How do I know this? Spitting back what I read? Nope, my first job out of school was with a transportation company with a tanker division... they hauled chemicals and.... wait for it...... GAS! Yep.... I watched it happen. The crap is all the same.
