Default Tire pressure monitor questions.

Re: a 2006 CS...the dash has the outline for the tire pressure monitoring system light but it does not light up and go out when starting the car, nor is there any indication of the system in the computer system nor display in the center of dash screen.

1. The system is discussed in the Owner's manual but do all 06 911s have this feature?
2. If the previous owner (9 years) did not replace the monitoring sensors when buying new tires would that remove it from the system as both a warning light and also in the computer?

1) I believe it was an option in 2006 and government mandated feature beginning 2007. Option code 482 for $590.

2) If you have the TPMS option and the batteries don't work in the sensors you still have TPMS but the dash reading would be errors.

Be glad your car doesn't have it.

I have a 2006 C2 and do not have the TPMS.

Lucky me.

Thank you all. I had it in my GTI and (as with so many things) the false warnings were a pain.
