VW Golf - For Real?
I have watched this over and over - can't believe what I am seeing. Found this on the front page of reddit.

I am in awe of Ed. Great, great mechanic. Love the show.
As to vid, it does seem P driver has lifted but Vdub is staying with him up til then. A funny sight to see.
If I was the Z owner I'd want my money back.

You must be right about the P driver lifting because the VW locks up the brakes and then goes around him. The guy in the P car must have had a shock to look in his rear view and see that car on his tail! Just hilarious!

Anything is possible. I'd be willing to bet my 16vGTI is faster from 10-80mph than my P-car. Granted it's got an enormous turbo attached to it 
But yeah, as a long time member of the VW community, I've seen some crazy MKI and MKII Golfs with huge power.
I, personally, have caught an ACR Viper off guard. That was a hilarious sight!

Drifting
Looked to me like the Porsche and Z were only racing to the speed limit and both lifted once they got up to speed... unlike the VW which never lifted, giving the illusion of quickness. If it was ACTUALLY faster, it would have been on the Porsche's *** the whole time instead of zipping up later.

I actually laughed out loud at that. Looked a normal highway race, then in comes player number 3. An unlikely candidate for sure. I think the 911 was so surprised, he forgot where the fun pedal was.
