Default Air dam/lip

My wife's 2011 Carrera S cab's front air dam/lip partially disengaged after she went up an acquaintance's rather steep driveway. The piece is about 2" tall and made of rubber. The guy at the body shop we use was able to re-install it -- it's sort of a "snap in and slide" sort of thing -- but he thinks it will come off again at some point.

Are there better, more permanent solutions out there? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Don't think you want a permanent solution. The undercarriage clearance is something Porsche owners have to live with and the spoiler lip is made from a material that will give and bend when faced with speed bumps, steep driveways, etc. If the tabs weren't broken and the tech re-installed properly, the lip shouldn't come off...that is until the next driveway adventure.

Don't know about this specific lip, but the front splitter on the 6GT3 was considered an expendable. Most guys, me included, kept 2-3 on the wall waiting for installation. (Joe Toth even had a small business providing aftermarket splitters.)

The OEM unit was much more prone to getting ripped off as its clearance was near-nil. If you'll look over on the 996 GT3 forum you'll see much discussion on this, and the different methods used to secure it better.
