Surprisingly enough it does work that way... at least for my VIN. Good hack until it is shut down.

You can cancel the print and take a screenshot to grab an electronic copy.

Still, the Suncoast version provides a lot more information and is well worth the $10 in my opinion, this one is more a simple window-sticker form.

Since I still have my build sheet on my computer from when the link was first working, I wonder if there's something in the browser buffer that allows the recent link to just work with my VIN. Try mine and see if it works for you -

Thanks.

Yep, worked just fine! They just seem to have poor site security that they are plugging one entry point at a time. Whoever figured out the print page back door gets points for that one! We'll see how long that one stays open.

I am able to pull up your car.

For all...you should be able to save off the page as a PDF for your electronic records.

As stated, a VIN decoder tells you little. What you want was how the car was built, the options codes, and the detailed pricing. To get the real data:

1) Contact Porsche NA in Georgia and they will provide you all the option codes etc. etc. for your car after you provide them with proof of ownership... just PDF them your title or bill of sale. They will enter you into their computer system as the owner. I did this.

2) Have a salesperson at a dealership print you the build and price sheet. I did this... the person said he was not allowed to do this per Porsche policy but went and did it anyway for me. This not only includes option codes, the option descriptions, but the option pricing. It also shows the total price of the car as built.

3) Use the tool as described here until it is shut down.

Why did I do all of the above? Because I could.... I am a geek.

Peace

Thanks - so strange that adding a print statement allows access.

Default Build Sheet/Vin Decoder?

Moderator...please block any Porsche employees from this thread so the hack remains our little secret.

Thanks for the link! It worked for me. I saved mine off as a PDF when the print screen appeared.

This link makes me sad.

I thought my car was Atlas Grey this whole time.

Come to find it is actually Meteor Grey. Phewee.

works for me - thanks for getting this info to the forum! Funny thing - my car lists a 6-disc CD/DVD changer but I don't have one in the car - previous owner must have removed it?

Hi, can anyone help me? I bought a 1990 964 with this VIN nº WP0ZZZ96ZLS452073. I think its a ROW model but the number 5 in 13th position is a USA body configuration. Can anyone explains me what that means? Thanks a lot. Best regards, JP
