Hi Mike, I'm a planet-9 member and just joined Rennlist in my search for a 911. I also can't access your ad and would like to see it as well! And I haven't been able to read about the unfortunate mishap with your puppy but my family just lost our dog of 14 years and so I will be keeping my fingers crossed that yours has a speedy and complete recovery.

Dealer found a small leak with PDK so Porsche just replaced the whole PDK...WOW...cool new transmission under warranty!!!! Everything else passed. Car is solid and drives so well. Buyer was concerned with over rev's...but with PDK you can't over rev which the PPI showed.

I guess if I do not hear from potential buyer then next week I will take the car in and continue as planned with taking off the mod's to sell them to those that have expressed interest.

Good luck, I hope the buyer gets back in contact. It'd be a shame to miss out on a car like this!

I do believe a PDK can have over revs in range 1 and 2, but nothing in excess of the CPO parameters. Not saying that this one does, but generally range 1 and 2 over revs are considered "safe".

Range 1 & 2 are not over rev's per Porsche...those show runs to red line and are not past the 7400rpm range. The service tech and service manager went over this showing me the report. Range 3 is even considered OK with Porsche. Range 4-6 are not good but I was told plenty of manual transmission cars have range 4 with zero issues.

Thanks....I hope the buyer just got busy with work and was waiting to hear from me.

Mike,

That ^ is not correct. While Range 1 & 2 are not considered serious or damaging, based on the Rev Range definitions listed below, they are revs over red line, making them "over revs."

Below are the six "rev ranges" for the 997.2.

Rev range 1: 7,500 to 7,699 = Maximum permitted engine speed exceeded; engine damage possible.

Rev range 2: 7,700 to 7,899 = Maximum permitted engine speed exceeded; engine damage possible.

Rev range 3: 7,900 to 8,099 = Maximum permitted engine speed exceeded; engine damage possible.

Rev range 4: 8,100 to 8,399 = Maximum permitted engine speed clearly exceeded; engine damage probable.

Rev range 5: 8,400 to 8,899 = Maximum permitted engine speed very clearly exceeded; engine damage very probable.

Rev range 6: over 8,900 = Engine damage has generally occurred.
