Camber Shims
I'm having my front LCA's replaced from the one piece 997.1 stock unit to the 996 GT3 two piece unit with shims. The rears will stay as the fixed versions. The car is slightly lowered on Damptronics. My current camber is -1.1 front, -1.5 rear. Staying with MPSS tires all the time, even during the occasional track visit.
I'm aiming for GT3 alignment numbers of -1.5 front, -1.5 rear. I might go higher to -2.0 or so front, staying -1.5 in the rear. I haven't bought the shims yet.
How many millimeters of shims do you have on your upgraded GT3 front lower LCA's? Do you have the 997 or 996 GT3 version (one version requires more shims)? What is your camber front & rear? Street tires?

10 mm of shim gets you about 1 degree of camber. I run -3 degrees in front and -2.6 degrees in the rear with 997 GT3 arms and Tarett monoball ends. Total shims on each front LCA's are 17mm, with a 10 mm spacer on my front axle since it is a C4S.

I just did the same things and stepped up to -2.0 degrees up front. It required 7mm of shims per side.

Helpful so far guys, thanks. Do you have the 997 GT3 or 996 GT3 version of the LCA's?
I'm under the impression if you upgrade to 997 GT3 LCA's you also need the GT3 trailing arms. But you can skip the trailing arms if you go with 996 GT3 LCA's with the downside being you need more shims to get to the same camber numbers. Is this correct?

I bought the 996 adjustable Lca's. No trailing arms needed.
My mechanic said that -2.0 was about the max before I needed to start replacing other parts.
I bought them from tarret. It was also suggested to stick with the stock rubber bushings instead of the mono all for a street car.
