Quick, short and to the point.... Looking at stepping down to 18" wheels and tires for the track. I already plan on going with OZ's but don't know what width to run. Also, I am struggling to get a straight answer on a tire size that won't screw up PSM and more importantly AWD.
Any advice or help anyone can offer? I appreciate the help in advance.![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)
PS- Car is used primarily for OT so looking at getting into a Nitto NT-01. I don't trailer so slicks or Hoosier's are not an option unfortunately.

By the way just to bump and add..... I have looked extensively on hear and planet-9 and I have found things for NB and GT3's but not finding anything definitive for those with AWD looking to go down to 18". Thanks again to any who can help.

You can go to Tire Rack dot com (no affiliation) and enter your vehicle. Then shop for tires and wheel sets. It will automatically give the correct size in OEM and whatever usable options they sell. I know 18" wheels and tires show up on a 997 4S and GTS 4. 20" sizes too, but you wanted to go smaller. BTW, Nitto now has NT01 in 19" to fit wide-body if you wanted to stay at 19".
Good luck.
Good luck.

I know tirerack.com very well but thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the "downsize" to 18's on Tirerack are sizes that offer no competition type tires like 888's or NT-01's.
If anyone else could offer some help on a 997.2 C4S WB that would be great.

Many have used R888s and NT01s in 18" sizes on their C2S/GTS/GT3s before. I imagine it will work for a C4 version as well as long as you stay within the same front/rear diameter ratio.
R888s in 255/35/18 front and 315/30/18 rear have worked as well as NT01s in 245/40/18 front and 305/35/18 rear. Just use a tire size calculator and compare these sizes with your own size. While the overall diameters might differ as long as the ratio between front and rear is close to OEM it should be fine.

You have to be in the racetrack & autocross section
Click tires and search by brand. R888's are available in 18's. Go to the specs page and find a pair that have approx the same revs per mile. 235/40ZR18 have 814 revs per mi and are $249 ea. The 315/30ZR18 also have 814 revs per mi and are $305. It's a coincidence that these have the same revs as pairs ofter differ slightly. See, for example, the 245/40ZR18 that have 808 and are $247. Check your OEM tires for comparison. Anything else

I went the same route as you. I have a 2009 C4S and went with 18" rims for the track
A few caveats:
The only tires for these rims are the NT01 which are very hard to find and the 888
There aren't any other alternatives out there.
Based on the load specs both tires have a 100Y load index but the C4S requires a 102Y index, that might mean that an online tire dealer might refuse to sell the tires to you (as it happened to me)
The workaround is to say that you have a 2006 C2 which has a 100Y load index. They might advise you that the tires won't fit on the rims, but just tell them that you have different rims
