P.S. I dare say that I'm part of Adrian's problem, as I've been "assigned" to provide more imagery as Adrian is unable to locate and photograph any 997.2 4S' in the Outback.
A couple of us are assisting, aleibit slower than he would prefer.

Recommended 997 book?
I'd say that a "weekend poser" is someone that never takes a 911 into the Wild.
As Joe suggests, get over your complaining about this and that and drive the SOF and you will forget about your projected issues with PDK and flat tires. Or just get an appliance for your practical car and leave us to enjoy these fine sports cars as they are intended.

I'm not saying to ignore maintenance and repairs. I'm merely saying drive, drive, drive.
You will either find yourself loving your car or selling it. Either way, as an individual, you win.
Let us know what you think after your next 5000 miles ... Make that around October.

I may have misspoke about Adrian having a 997.1 book out. I see Amazon cites an April 2016 publication, which is the same for the all inclusive 997 book. I'll all.

I have Adrian's 996 book, and have pre-ordered his 997 book. IMO, excellent independent coverage, a bible!
He already has a 997 book out that covers the 997.1. The edition to be published in May is an update, which will include the 997.2

Just got a note from Adrian. He says that the "Porsche 997 The Essential Companion (706 pages) and two 997 Buyer’s Guides (1st and 2nd generation model ranges) have been written and submitted to the publisher. All 3 books will be published in 2016."
Waiting until after Christmas to pre-order (in case someone pre-orders it for me as a Christmas present). note added: Wife pre-ordered!!
And if you haven't seen any of Adrian's books (the 911SC and 996 volumes are on my bookshelf), they are well worth purchasing. He has put a phenomenal amount of information into them.
