VERY loud, and quite high-pitched 997S?
Hi peeps, newbie here..
Was out driving my 986 with the top down and spotted a 997 S.. My car was still cold, so left the fella in the 997 to race himself
One thing i noticed though.. His S was spectacularly loud (audible way down the motorway). Clearly he was red-lining it, but it was super loud for a stock 997 and also, I noticed the engine tone was really strangely high-pitched, in between what you'd expect from a Porsche and say a Lambo / Ferrari.
Anyone any ideas as to what exhaust mods he may have done to achieve that kind of sound?

No way to know? Seriously??
I have a bypass exhaust fitted on mine and was thinking this may be involved on this car?
Could it be the standard OEM exhaust upgrade or something like a Tubi or equivalent? Something known to be a popular mod?

IPE exhausts seem to have a high pitched sound. I've never heard one in person, only on the web. The manufacturer claims that they sound like F1 exhausts, but online they don't sound anything like an F1 exhaust. Listen to a few clips and see if that's the one you heard.

Where was it?
California, Texas, Europe?
You said motorway, so I'm guessing nowhere around here.
Would you compare it to a GT3 getting it's neck wrung, or definitely more italian sounding?
