I agree... point 10 is spot on!

A friend of mine owns a turbo cab very similar to mine. He doesn't drive his turbo very often. He recently said to me: "I can't imagine driving that car every day. I don't know how you can do it." My response was: "I can't imagine letting that car sit in the garage every day. I don't know ho you can do it."

How could you not drive it every day? I drove a 944S2 as a DD for 12 years and now this 997 for 1.5 years and put 14,000 miles on it and still can't wait to drive it next. I also autocross it with the SCCA, it's just a great car. Some times with the heated adaptive sports seats I'll get home and just sit there as the seat feels so good on my back.

My 2010 997.2 C2S with manual transmission is my DD. The car had 2,945 when I bought it 3.5 years ago and I just turned 61,400 miles on the odometer.

Other than regular oil changes and tires, the only thing I have had to do is replace the front rotors and brake pads about two weeks ago. I probably could have gone another 10k miles on the original rotors and pads, but wanted to get them changed before the summer weather arrives.

Tim has it been 3.5 years already?! Wow time travels so fast. Not really a daily driver but close. Always want to drive everyday. Runs well and no problems except for the mentioned hood and bumper nicks due to small rocks will just repaint when the time comes. Right now it's giving the car character...

At this point, I wish I had another car, simply because I "love" my C2S so much, I get frustrated trying to keep it pristine. Because my commute sucks, I don't use my motorcycle, or that would be an option. If I take the SUV, my wife will drive the 911, so what's the point?

Meh, like others have said, paint the bumper and hood when the time is right.

Driveability and comfort wise, ZERO problems as a DD.

Rick,

Yeah, it is hard to believe it has been 3.5 years already.

Damn, that also means that I am 3.5 years older now than when I bought it.

Thanks a lot for reminding me that I'm getting older!

Yes!!! You are channeling my very thoughts! What we both need is another C2S! One for fun and one for DD. Is there no support group for people who suffer from chronic 911 deficiency?!?....T

Yes, yes, yes. And PDK is great for that. Sport Mode - manual in stop and go is great and even better when the road opens up!

Why not? If the drive is the least bit interesting, I say do it. Comfort, suspension, seats, sound etc .... of course.

There are a few times that I wish I had gotten a M instead of a PDK...

Then I do a commute in the SF Bay Area traffic. OH MY GAWD. Then I remember... ah, this is why we opted for the PDK.

PDK + Sport = How I drive a manual in normal driving

PDK + S+ =

Life is short. Why buy a car and not drive it. I constantly try and find a reason to drive it. My commute is short. From San Carlos to the Bart. Few short miles. But, if the feeling is right... I can take a detour up through skyline and take the long way. Twisties for breakfast and dinner.

Been daily driving a 997S for nearly 6 years, one time I had to get a new waterpump...

(purchased with 10,038 miles now has 71,139 miles). Great car, big return for my money spent.

Yup! I live about 12 minutes from the office, it took me over an hour to get home from work yesterday

Yes it it rough, but it depends on what you like, how bad the roads are in your area and what you are willing to sacrifice.
Like i mentioned, i came from a Mercedes S550 as my DD. So the standard shocks in my C4 are quite hard for my taste. But the car is so much fun to drive im sucking it up and trying not to mind the bumps.
Im hoping that i will be able to retrofit PASM and i hope it will solve my discomfort issue.
