Default 997 Blues

I know its a great problem to have but I have to rant or vent. Why do I think I want a 430hp Carmine Red GTS? I've got a sweet C4S cab with 355hp and somehow it's not enough in my crazy brain. In everyday driving I will never notice the power difference will I? I do love non-guards red and the prospect of RWD but what's wrong with me? I will say I have always loved the sweet red on my old 97 Prelude and Carmine reminds me of it. Being able to order exactly what I want seems kind of nice too. Right now I can recall driving my car just last year thinking "whoa that's stupid fast" and quickly wondering why I'd ever need anything more. Yet here I am. Winter is too long.

I understand you. I too have a cab, an 09C2S and I drive it daily. It's a great car and really all I ever need. But I too lust after a GTS and I test drove one. Big mistake! Yes you will feel the power. It is delivered differently. It is a different car and the only factor that kept me sane was the cost differential as the dealer would make out on my trade-in and on the car. The prospect of shelling 30 large on top of my car does not make any sense. I keep dreaming though and keeping an eye out. Eventually something may come up that will be difficult to pass up. Never know...

You get used to it if you drive it every day.

I remember when I upgraded from my 320 HP 996 C4S to my 480 HP 997 TT. It seemed ridiculously fast when I first bought it. Now it feels "normal".

This is the absolute truth. I have an A4 as a DD and the thing it does best is remind me how great the GTS is.

I've been driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee for the past 4 months waiting for the winter to pass. The 997 came out of hibernation last week and I couldn't be happier!

I hear that. My DD is a 14 Ram 4x4. Its a beast but very comfortable.

I'm getting a skirt package put on right now. Part of me wants to list it for sale at some point and if I get my asking price well then I can move on to 991 territory. I'll have wait and see

Ok now it looks like I'm trying to brag. I can't stand people like that it's just there's no way to type it out without coming off that way it seems. I am actually a fairly humble person. Reality is there is no one that I know who I can talk to about this. I really do have an addiction!!!!

Quote from a Sheryl Crow song: " It's not wanting want you want but wanting what you have".

Nah, I know how you feel.

I felt the same way about my car too. My problem is that motorcycles have numbed my sense of speed.

Now, what I consider "fast" has to displace more than 900ccs and redline at over 11,000 RPM.

Yup. I had both my cars out in the shop at the same time last week - was forced to drive the wife's boat (Jag) for 6 days - when the 911 was ready for pickup last Friday I started it up....just awesome - forgot it even sounded like this.
