Default V-1: Logic, Advanced Logic, and/or Junk-K filter?

OK, after upgrading (actually a replacement) of my 15 year old V1 detector, I ran my new V1 for a few months now in Logic mode. I have always ran the unit in Logic mode and was happy with this configuration. Here in Northern New Jersey (a crap hole), the thing still falses so much, it is pretty much useless. The new unit definitely falses less especially with Laser.

The unit has always had three modes, All Bogyes, Logic and Advanced Logic. I always ran in Logic. Now it has a new Junk-K filter that addresses the noise from new accident avoidance systems on cars and other sources. So I am now about to turn on the Junk-K filter, and then I realized I never used Advanced Logic. So.....

Should I use Advanced Logic, Junk-K filter, or both?

I sent this same question directly to Valentine... I will post what they respond with. I suspect like with everything, I will have to try all alternatives and make a decision for myself.

Peace

The new filters are more specific than either logic mode.

Advanced Logic will not eliminate any of the junk K Band.

I have mine programmed:

X - Disabled
K - Disabled
Ka - On
Laser - On

I believe I have mine on Advanced Mode.

I have a V1 also, I recently turned on the junk k filter and it eliminated the all the false alarms from car safety radar. Activate the junk k filter, you'll get what you are looking for.

OP: FYI once you activate the junk filter when the V1 boots up you will see briefly this sequence of characters: P o P t. Small 't' means junk filter is ON.

i run advanced logic and traffic mode which filters out all the adaptive cruise and blind spot monitors...the small t is the traffic filter, not the junk filter.

Thanx, I will add this filter and keep it in the middle Logic mode. I should have immediate feedback by the end of next week. I read up on the Advanced Logic mode and there is some sensitivity loss.... hmm.... specific noise reduction vs general noise reduction......

We will see.

Even with some of the sensitivity off the V1's range is so incredibly high you ought to be fine. If V1 has finally figured out the junk k-band that will be a huge improvement and I will gladly send mine in for the upgrade. Mine has been sitting on the shelf in my garage for the past 6 months.

They go together - traffic and junk-K are activated at the same time. See VR's statement:

"How to know if Traffic Monitor Filter and Junk-K fighter have been activated on your V1: During the start-up sequence, just after "P...o...P," the symbol "t" will appear if they are enabled."

I gave up on mine. Enjoying new Escort without the junk, plus it has reminders of the speed cameras and such. Got a great deal on Black Friday.
