Hahaha

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it for sure. I only got the car two weeks ago, and already the mods have begun. The original plan was to keep it as stock as possible, but that is going to be hard.

while you are at it, you should buy bmwfan328 rear 997.2 wide body bumper with exhaust shrouds, his pricing is a steal and perfect for you since its wb (would have bought it myself but i had NB). not to mention since you're into the mods lol it would be a great opportunity to get a set of rear parking sensors installed as well (im doing all of this this season myself).

I wouldn't do it....if you ever want to sell, these types of mods are frowned upon since they usually indicate an accident. I'd look into other mods, like exhaust, GT3 RIMS (white), Power chip, Intake, short-shifter, GT3 Carbon Fiber seats, buy a 964, etc....less is more.

ebay + setting google alerts would be your best bets. in all cases they would be rare and almost impossible to come by.... unfortunately same would apply with the gt3 front bumper plastic guts.

Thannks for the advice. If it were a classic Porsche, then I would agree with you. However, it will be years and years before my 08 C4s becomes a collectible. And in that time, I'm going to drive it and enjoy it, modding it along the way.

If I decide to sell, Ill likely just reinstall the stock bumper and sell the complete GT3 front seperately. I'm sure I would have a buyer in no time. I have already had three or four people tell me they want to buy it, and I havent even listed it for sale.

I have been modding cars for a long time. No matter how badly I would like to leave things stock, I find I just can't. The funny thing is, the Porsche is staying mostly stock compared to my current project car, my v10 Audi S6 ( the v10 S6 project ).

The Porsche will get spacers to bring the wheels flush (or better fitting lightweight wheels) and probably Bilstein PASM coilovers to lower the car. If I decide to go further, then headers, an exhaust, intake, tune, and lightweight flywheel. But that stuff is all optional as budget permits. It already has a short shifter.

I also started with a complete stock C4S last year. Got the wheels & springs done same day picked up the car and then the GT3 bug caught me, initially I only wanted to do the front bumper but then ended up doing the rear. That's how ishe sits currently....

gsxr, the car looks amazing! Nice work. Is that matte white?

The lower front bumper really balances out the car nicely.

I kind of like the stock rear bumper, so Ill probably stick with that.

Looking at your car just reminds me that I need to lower the car too.

Thanks, It's wrapped Pearl matte white. I am running H&R springs. I would stick with your OEM rear otherwise finding an GT3RS Rear is a pain, Only reason I did mine is because I came across an amazing OEM GT3RS bumper for very cheap.

If I have a 997.2 and need to complete the internals of the GT3 conversion...

a. Do I need 997.2 GT3 front air scoops or will 997.2 still work? Sounds like I need the GT3 air scoops.

b. If I need the GT3 air scoops, will it work with the 997.2 radiator?

c. Front wheel liners, 997.2 GT3 wheel liners work on existing radiator support? Or do I need 997.2 GT radiator supports?

That is the last thing I need to take care off to make my conversion done. I have an 09, so I do not have a center radiator, and not sure if I will be adding it or not.

Part numbers if anyone has them would be nifty.

A. From what I understand, you will need the GT3 air scoops

B. Looks like you can use your side rads, but the center rad is different on the GT3. You might be able to use it anyway, but air flow would necessarily flow as designed. If you dont have a center rad, then you can get the GT3 one or just leave it as is.

C. From what I can tell, the GT3 fender liners allow the air to flow through them, while the 997 Carrera liners do not. Again, GT3 is best, but probably not necessary.

All my replies are just based on what I have read, and not first hand experience, as I havent gotten that far in the project yet. So, you'll definitely want to confirm these answers before ordering any parts.

Good Luck!!!

I did this mod (997.2 w/PDK center radiator to OEM 997.2 GT3 bumper). What halo777 said is correct. You need the GT3 radiator scoops L/R. They should fit your stock side radiators. I seem to remember that the original air scoop on the PDK radiator fits up to the GT3 center grill frame, but I'm not 100%. Since the non-GT3 radiator directs airflow downwards, you have 2 choices. Either replace it with a GT3 radiator (expensive) or cut a section out of the GT3 bumper so that air can escape downwards (match it up with your original bumper).

Here are the parts I used:
99750571192 Centre air inlet grille, Facelift 09-
99750556192 Retaining frame for centre air inlet grille, Facelift 09-
99757571792 Air outlet grille, upper part, 09-
99757556792 Set, retaining frame, upper part, 3-pieces
99750556392 Retaining frame, lateral, Facelift 09-, L
99750556492 Retaining frame, lateral, Facelift 09-, R
99750571392 Air inlet grille, lateral, Facelift 09-, L
99750571492 Air inlet grille, lateral, Facelift 09-, R
99757532291 air routing, lateral
99757532191 air routing, lateral
Also: screws for the smiley grille retaining frame, we never figured out which ones they were.
And: the front spoiler lip
We did not change the front wheel liners.

GOOD LUCK. Oh, and prepare for a lot of bumper scraping.

Yeah, I will place an order for those air scoops. Cheapest I have found for OEM is at ECS.

I have an 09, so I do not have a center radiator. When I start tracking and need to worry about cooling, I will worry about adding the center kit then.

I think I will definitely need the GT3 front wheel liner part. The OEM that I have now seems a bit too narrow. The GT3 Front bumper seems to be a little wider on the bottom compared to the Carrera S, so I have a little space between the liner and front bumper.

I was just more worried about the GT3 wheel liners working on Carrera .2 radiator supports and hope that the GT3 radiator support has the mounting holes in the same spot.
