It is wonderful to see someone else come out on the winning side of your battle with breast cancer...and to do so with a 997 is like a double dose of icing on the cake!!!

Enjoy each and every practice session with your beauty and don't be a stranger with your new friends on RL...

Congratulations and enjoy! You have very little to worry about on the lift-throttle-oversteer front. Can still bite you in extreme situations, but with AWD and nannies, Porsche has taken most, if not all, the drama out of it.

Sport Design steering wheel: I missed a couple of them in Marketplace so I bought one from suncoast ~1000 and got the swapped done at a recommended local Porsche specialist. I'm told it's easy and airbag is same so kept.
X-pipe: I searched for Fabspeed or Sharkwerks then got one almost new from Marketplace. Swap done at same time than the steering wheel. Labor depends on how hard it is to remove muffler as pipes tend to get welded together by rust and heat. 1 to 3h, took 1.5 in my case but you can ask for fixed price up front. It is not difficult at all technically if you have the right tools, a lift etc... I just love the new sound. Not too loud in normal mode low revs, just right with revs. Then with PSE bypass active it is the right sporty sound, still reasonable at low revs. Another option would be FVD Brombacher headers with 200 CEL cat and muffler bypass.
I got the OEM Carrera 4 18" wheels and Nokian tires from Wheels Enhancement. Same exact specs than Porsche Tequipment but cheaper. I really wanted to stay with OEM wheels.
Lightning stuff from ECS Tuning.

I could say many things about your entire post. I'll say just this. Best post I can remember on this forum. Congrats again.
Best post? Awww, shucks. Thanks. And congrats to your sister on beating BC, too! It IS tough on everyone, but we learn how strong we can be when we make it through.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for all the info! I really DO like that steering wheel a lot. I think that will be the second thing on my 997-wish list. The first thing I want is a set of wheels for my winter tires, so I will be able to drive my car all winter long...well, as long as the snow isn't higher than my ground clearance!

OK, sorry for so many posts. I just realized that maybe I shouldn't do that??? Being a Newbie, I'm not sure what the "proper" way is to respond to everyone best! So, I'll just make one more post tonight to say thanks for all the welcomes and kind words. And...

Racetwin2: I agree that these cars were made to be driven, and I will be driving mine...both as a daily driver and doing some AutoX. Of course, I'll plan to baby it too, with lots of hand washing and waxing and...I also need to get some Dr. Color Chip to fix a paint chip on the hood, and for future chips that I know will happen with a DD.

erliuic: Of course black is the fastest, LOL!

Have a great evening y'all!

Wonderful story and introduction. Think about joining other Porsche owners for Palooza in November in Eureka Springs Arkansas. It's a great time.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll look into that. It's a 5 hour drive from here, so definitely do-able.
