Default Using the rain to wash my car

2009 C2S

We are getting quite a bit of rain right now in philly so I pulled my car out of the garage and am letting it sit there... to be washed by the rain. It is covered in salt..... just a mess.

Everyday, all weather, all season driver.

Peace

Hope you weren't driving this morning! I saw pictures of the pile-up on the Skulkyll due to ice.

LOL ...

Yeah, and I used to put my dirt bike under the lawn sprinkler after a day of hard riding!!! Good luck with that ...

As Braking Bad said, hope you weren't out on the ice.

The ice was awful...... staying home and having a Pilsner Urquell right now.

Yep, I am a hillbilly.

I grew up in western PA, the place that big city liberals point to as "what's wrong with America". I think I am the only guy withing 10 square miles of me, western Philly burbs, that has a floor jack.

Where I grew up we didn't throw it away, we fixed it. If it was broken real bad, there was always someone near who could make the part. Don't throw it away, just put in your garage, then in the back yard 'cuz it will come in handy some day. Do you need that little part that looks like an "L" with a hole on one end and a valve thingy on the other? I got that.

Peace

Get out there with a sponge/soap and let the rain wash it off. Also like Braking bad said stay off the SureKill Expressway.

If it is warm enough to rain you should be at the car with a garden hose rinsing off the wheels/brakes, rinsing the wheel wells, the radiator ducts, and spraying the underneath of the car to rinse away the salt and stuff.

Afterwards take the car out for a drive and use the brakes hard enough to get the brakes hot and dry the brakes out thoroughly or they'll rust up something fierce while the car sits with wet brake hardware.

Hoses are all frozed up. Remember, all my stuff sits in the yard.

Went out this morning to Wawa for coffee and it was very slippery. I live in Havertown just a couple of miles south of philly and it has been a miserable day.

Where abouts are you at?

Gladwyne. When I say I am the only one around here with a floor jack, I meant it. I just replaced the plumbing in a powder room this AM. Darn zip code.... can't find a reasonable contractor for anything.

Ping when you heading to a meet up.... I travel all week so time is tough.

Peace
