Much better, very nice! I'm glad to see you got what you wanted. Hopefully the installation was as easy as promised. I hope to see it first hand around town sometime.

Thanks, very easy to get them on and being a full member definitely paid off, so good very good advice. Between that and the clear side markers it changes the whole look with only minor tweaks. Now just gotta decide if I want to paint my rims or not, slippery slope.

Looks great mate! Did you have to put reduction sleeves to fit? I have a 997.1 C2 and got the OEM C2S tips for it, but the exhaust pipe is much narrower than the tips fitting. FVD can ship the adapters for about $70, which I think is RIDICULOUS for what they are. I really don’t mind spending money, time, effort, sweat, blood, whatever it is on my car, I LOVE IT – but I do think some businesses abuse process just because of the Porsche crest. Anyway I am making my own fittings out of aluminum pipes, just wanted to ask if you had anything special done to yours.

Mine is a 997.2 and the tips I got were from a 997.1 S, I did it myself at first but had to get the fitting on my new exhaust tips (997.1 S tips) a little looser and I did not have a stretcher , so went to Meineke to save myself time and money and they took out the metal gasket ring from my old one (not really an adapter, it comes in the OEM tip to really seal it, pic is attached, not sure what the proper name is) barely opened the new tip a tad and put the adapter in it, tightened it on and done, cost me $20.

OEM Metal gasket ring (not sure of proper name)

The exhaust tip size on a 997.1 S and a 997.2 C2 is the same, the 997.1 and 997.1 S are different sizes from what I have been told

Default Installing 997.1 S quad tips to 997.2 C2

Reviving this thread and noticed when I installed the 997.1S quad tips to my 997.2 C2, it wasn't aligning properly, similar to the sample photo I got thru the web. Is the orientation really not straight? I also noticed the one with austin997.2 is leaning sideways a bit?

In person mine look straight to me, however I have never benchmarked it against a 997.2S.

Do you have other photos of your rears? I have a non-S 997.2 but couldnt line it up straight. I may be missing out something. The inner rings are there and tried loosening it up but still is crooked or it is straight but its bit sideways.

Took a picture and in person they look very straight. They do need a good cleaning though

Thanks Austin. That is what I am getting also. Both pipes are leveled but the orientation of the exhaust fumes or smoke is not straight but rather slanted. We'll check if the orientation will be the same once the Fister and Xpipe has been installed.
