Default Carrera Sport Wheels question about finish

To be clear, I'm talking about the 10-spoke.
I've seen this wheel in gun metal with a polished (bare?) lip and painted all over gun metal. I've also seen it in a brighter silver and black variants.

My question regards the gun metal wheels: Do they all have a polished lip from Porsche?

OEM the lips are machined and polished.

I ran across a set that appears to be 100% gun metal. Maybe reconditioned if the lip is supposed to be natural.

My gut says refinished, but Porsche may have an option code to do them without the polished lip. I know Porsche's standard set up for the wheels is GT Silver with the machined/polished lips. As an option code you can get the color matched to the vehicle at the time of original purchase (i.e., car was bought new with the Carrera Sport wheels). So far, I've seen that done in black and slate grey.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Schpee! Yep these appear to be reconditioned, painted. With my flashlight and a finger rub, I could detect a repaired curb rash. If they balance up properly (test at my cost) I may pounce on these. I'm not too concerned about historical accuracy on an 8-year-old DD, so I can let the polished lip slide.

Good luck. They are great looking wheels. Post pics if you go for it.
