Update!

Car audio professional confirmed this is likely the capacitors in the amp failing, and collapsing on shutdown. He is ordering a new amp right now, will install, and we'll go from there!

Out of curiosity, are you ordering a replacement Porsche amp or aftermarket?

I insisted on an oem Porsche amp...the dealership is actually covering this; they just subcontract their car audio work.

Resurrecting this old thread - I also experienced this popping sound every time I turned off the car. I didn't think much of it until I started getting consistent odd thumping sounds from the speakers. Turned out amp went bad - I believe the popping sound was an early indicator of an issue developing.
