Valuation of 2009 Carerra?
Thoughts on purchase price for a (997.2) 2009, White/Sand beige, 911 Carrera, 31800 miles; clean ppi, PDK, leather, navigation system. Carfax shows "minor accident" (saw police report showing damage as $500 estimate and only to rear protruding bumper area; just paint perhaps?) Car was Porsche Certified for sale about 6 months AFTER the accident. Very pristine condition.
Appreciate thoughts on fair price to pay.
Thanks,
Rob

The only way to really know the "value" is to obtain the Manheim auction prices, nationally, for the particular model (S or Base, or Cabriolet variant). This price will represent the " price floor". Any dollar above this is gravy/profit and dealerships/sellers will try and convince you that because of x-option it is worth the extra extra money.
You will see in the auction price sheets, that options mean nothing (other than color, transmission).
Regarding a bad CarFax, there are those here that will run away screaming from that. I understand their concerns, but I purchased an '09 with a bad CarFax and got an unbelievable deal. I drive my Porsche and keep them for a long time so repairing a bumper or whatever is no biggie to me at all and I see it as a way of getting way more for you dollar.
I found, via the local Porsche club, a speed shop to dump the computer to check for overrevs and inspect the car..... it came out with raves. I have been very happy now putting around 40K miles on the car.
Good Luck,

That seems high to me. I don't have any data to back it up, but what I see for asking prices from dealers, $49,400 seems too high. I would expect low 40's to even high 30's.
If I'm wrong though, that's great for the C2's.

I know of a dealer selling a 2010 C2, pretty basic car, I think the MSRP was 88k with all optons and it's listed around $44k. However its a shade over 50k miles and I know that's a milestone number.

Yep, I'm familiar with Manheim. I'm just surprised a dealer paid close to $50k for a C2, even if it does only have 25k miles.

If that sale was from a dealer, that's a good example of how I doubt the Mannheim price for a base C2 with 25k miles sold for $49.4 is the norm. It seems like an overpriced bid by someone.
