Default PCM 2.1 Navigation System Not Finding Vehicle Location

The PCM 2.1 navigation system on my 08 Targa 4 seems to have a strange issue. For some reason, it cant seem to find its position on the map. The arrow will find a location then it will jump to a new location far from the position of the car. When I checked the system info it shows it finds several satellites then all the sudden goes to zero satellites located. I checked to make sure the GPS antenna was plugged in under the drivers side window cowling and it was. I reset the system by pressing 1-4-8 and that didn't work either. What else could possibly cause this issue? Could the GPS antenna be bad?

Update, the car originally had PCM but added the nav module later. Not sure if that makes any difference at all.

The fact that is is showing GPS position at all tells merit is "working" but obviously not correct. I would complete disconnect the system for a few minutes and then plug in and see if it resets. After that, swing by the dealer

Tried pulling the fuse over night which didn't work. Guess I'll have to take it to the stealership...

Question

I had that problem after windshield replacement. there are several very small connectors in the A pillars that if not seated perfectly will cause exactly those results. Had to have them connected/ reconnected twice then about a ten minute drive to " re learn" and it has been good ever since.
You may want to pull off the A pillar trim (easy to do), and see if the connectors are seated perfectly.

I would make sure that the GPS antenna is in a location with unobstructed by metal view of the sky. If the nav module was added, then another possibility is difference in software version between the nav module and the PCM module. You woul need to visit a dealer or somebody with PIWIS to reprogram it. Please keep us updated!

Is there a way to determine what software versions are on the nav module and PCM module without going to the dealer?
