Default 997 Cabriolet - Michelin PS2 vs PSSs?

I'm looking to replace my tires on my 997 cabriolet and am wondering which of the two routes people go and why? i.e. why is the PSS a "better" tire?

I mostly do city/highway driving around NYC

Not "better" but "egual too" at a lower price. No reason to pay extra for Porsche N rating . This is a no brainer for highway use wet or dry conditions.

better as in less expensive
N rating around NYC is redundant!
PSS is quieter which on these lousy roads is a plus.

I've had both and prefer the PSS. Only reasons I can think of to go with PS2's would be a) if you were buying only fronts or rears and were trying to match existing tires, or b) if you were planning to trade in to a Porsche dealer soon and the car was eligible to be CPO'd.

I've also had both. Pretty much the same grip, with PSS's quieter and way less expensive (and supposedly will last longer given the higher wear rating). It's a PS2 with an additional few years of tire tech going into it... PSS's for me.

Funny, I am in NYC as well with a 997 cab and was just considering replacing my PS2's which are tough around the city and surrounding areas.

Juan9999 let me know where and how much you paid to get them replaced. Should be around $1,000 all in for all four last time I checked on-line.

Oem were PS2, have MPSS now and really like them. They ride nicer, are quieter, and grip seems adequate for my skill level. And $3-400 less for set of 4! What's not to like?

PS2 N2 for me. Avoiding potholes is fun.

PSS sidewall too soft for my taste.

Just got the PSSs. I love how much quieter they are for the crappy roads around NYC.

They seem to handle ok, may be a bit less sticky/fast, but hopefully the durability will last!
