Default Interested in buying a 997 outdoor car cover

Hi.

Does anyone have an outdoor car cover that they would be interested in selling that fits a 997? I may need to park the 997 outdoors for several months until our new home is completed.

Thanks.

Mark

Check eBay. There's a guy in Miami who sells oem covers. I bought an indoor one from him and it was exactly as represented.

When my 997 is outside I use this OEM cover which is on sale on eBay at this seller:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/291195779627...84.m1423.l2649

It is snug but is very easy to put on / remove and works very well.

I use this one for 147 dollars and if you have prime you'll have it in 2 days.

Amazon.com: Covercraft Custom Fit Car Cover for Porsche 911 (Technalon Evolution Fabric, Tan): Automotive Amazon.com: Covercraft Custom Fit Car Cover for Porsche 911 (Technalon Evolution Fabric, Tan): Automotive

It doesn't have a logo but that's fine with me as I don't want to advertise anyway. Very soft underneath although as with any cover should only be applied to an absolutely clean vehicle. Breathes really well. Fits extremely well as it is model specific. Perfect sizing and the mirror pockets line up.

I would exercise caution with long term parking out doors and car covers. Any cover will add scratches to your car under the right(wrong) circumstances. Car must be extremely clean when then car is applied, as in freshly washed. Dust and grit can work it's way under any cover outdoors via the wind and in higher winds if the car has grit on it the car cover moving a bit with the wind can cause micro swirls. Just mentioning this as often times car covers can make problems worse. That being said I've had no issue using this cover for 3-4 days after a fresh wash. This cover is very soft underneath and will not cause scratches unless there is grime on the car.

Thank you for the suggestions. I appreciate them. The $147 cover on Amazon is an excellent value.

If anyone has a cover specific to a 997 that they do not use and want to sell, please PM me.

mjsporsche, that amazon cover is 997 specific. It's tailor made for the car.

I understand you may be looking for a cheaper used alternative but I thought I would mention that it is model specific in case it didn't come across correctly in my post.

Ignore the 1 comment on amazon that said it's 5 feet too long. The guy obviously got shipped the wrong item at some point in time. I just purchased this cover 6 weeks ago and it fits like a glove.

That's a great deal on the Evolution fabric cover by Covercraft. I've used those covers the past 15 years on a multitude of cars. They're great all weather covers.

I need one as well, until I get a new place with a garage I have to leave it outside

How is the ebay one vs. the cover craft for outdoors?
