Default How to replace PDK Shift Trim?

Hi,

I'm looking for some DYI instructions to replace the PDK shift trim (2010, C4S Cab). The is the piece I'm referring to: http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...324501XXX.html

I've heard that getting the shifter off can be tricky and may break additional parts, so I'm hopeful someone can provide some details.

On one side the leather (or whatever material that is) is delaminating and blistering so I think replacing the piece is the best option.

Thanks in advance.

I did not go to the thread mentioned above, but I think that I went to the Suncoast website to find installation instructions when I changed to the leather surround. For me, the removal of the shift **** was the most difficult and as I recall, I eventually used a wrench wrapped with tape or cloth (to avoid scratches) to turn the release mechanism at the very bottom of the ****. I might could do it without a wrench now that it has been moved one time, but I doubt it.
Be careful as you remove the interior parts that must be moved to take out the old surround as I recall, there are a couple of the expansion pins that were difficult to remove. I did not own the proper tools at the time. This is a fairly striaghtforward change and is fairly simple for the patient person.
(I think the overhead light surround on my coupe was much more difficult to change due to the electrical connections being so stubborn.)
Best.
