I haven't taken a look at the owners manual or the maintenance records yet, but with just above 27k miles, should I be taking into account a big service at 30k miles, or is it at 45k miles? Should I get the oil and filter changed regardless when I first buy the car, or get the recommendation from the Autohaus doing the PPI - sorry for the noob questions
edit - Just found this
http://www.euroaddiction.net/forum/9...-schedule.html
So basically a oil and filter change at 30k, the big one is the 45k service, bingo

the PPI just finished and he said everything looked solid, no leaks etc, mentioned that the breaks are about 40-50% left and would recommend having them replaced at the 30k service. I'm waiting for him to do the full write up. He said the oil should be changed out and said I could see if the dealership would do it, or possibly not because they're a merc dealer....
As far as regular oil changes, should I bring it to an authorized Porsche Dealership, or bring it to a specialist shop like Rennwerke in Elmsford NY
Basically..is it recommended to have regular maintenance like oil changes at an authorized shop, or a specialty...i'm not changing it myself, at least not this time around

Get your DIY feet wet with oil changes. These cars are the easiest change around. Plus you get an up close and personal look at the underside, have the most trusted, invested person possible doing the work (you!) and burn your fingers with a little hot oil to boot! It's super easy and will save you $100+ every time you do it.

Hmm..I think that sounds like a good plan, I just figure the first one it couldn't hurt for a place to do it, just so if there is anything off they would know. Plus I kinda wanted to check out this place, maybe get familiar with the guys there so if I have work down the road I know I can go to them.
