Does anyone know a company that offers extended warranties for a 997.1 C2S. I've tried two companies and they don't cover me (they didn't say why but I could venture a guess). Thanks.

Whats your mileage?
I got Fidelity. If you get the platinum plan it will cover all big ticket items - i.e. IMS.
The rates will depend on how many miles you have on the car and if you had a previous warranty on the car. I'm in North NJ, if you are near I will be happy to recommend the dealer I brought my plan from.

I don't get the interest in extended warranties. I go the the seller, give him a big chunk of money out of which he takes a commission, then gives the rest to the insurer. The insurer pays all his expenses and then makes profit on top of that - because he knows how much he's likely to have to put out during the length of the warranty. He happily pays out the small dollar items, and the insured sleeps easy. Then there comes an issue that you actually bought the insurance for;

Now, instead of peace of mind, you have to worry about whether or not you can convince them to pay. They know about cylinder scoring, IMSB failures and all the rest, and they figure it's either very unlikely to happen, or it's very unlikely that they'll have to pay. I know there are people that come out ahead, but there are people that win in Vegas too, but that's not how they build expensive casinos.

I have easy care exclusionary on my Cayenne turbo s. Just paid for itself on my last visit to my dealer.
I just bought a 2011 c2s in Nashville and the dealer only uses easy care, but I didn't buy b/c it was a CPO vehicle. Let me know if you need his info.

i looked at exposure - whilst your comments on whether they will pay out or not are true i am yet to have an issue.
Fidelity have paid out on the following -
rms $1600
ims - short block rebuild $27k
i would have been in a tricky situation had i not had the coverage. there is no way i can afford a 27k hit unbeknown to me
what is interesting is that at the time of purchase i turned down an aftermarket warranty from the dealer as i felt it was just a way for them to make a commission. a year later i just decided to look into the idea of a warranty.. glad i did.

perk10- i've got an 07 997.1 Turbo tip with 24k miles & still under CPO- decided to get Fidelity on it as local dealer now uses Zurich (corp decision) which is much more $$. I had Fidelity Platinum on my 02 996C2- they paid for some small stuff & also RMS replacement- it helped with car sale- Wife's 07 boxster S has Fidelity Platinum- used few times for minor stuff- no issue-
Got Fidelity Platinum $250 ded 6 yr 60k addt'l miles for 07 997.1TT few months back $4300- debated whether to spend the $ on the TT-decided to get it -peace of mind for 6 yrs-

I also have a Fidelity Platinum warranty. 7 year/ 70K miles from date of contract. The $$$$ spent is worth the peace of mind. Wish they sold a 10 year plan.

I am looking into one from my dealer since my car comes off CPO August 2nd. I can't swing a 30K motor and my wife would divorce me if the damn thing blew up but I love my car.

just picked up mine today. a guy i know is the finance manager and he hooked me up. if your car is still under warranty then all you have to do is pay over the phone. 3% surcharge for credit card. I got Plat coverage with $100 deductible 6 years 60k miles. My car is an 07 TT with 30k on it. I paid $5500. Suncoast quoted me $9200 for the same warranty and a $250 deduct. That's insane. he said he would be willing to do $500 over cost for any of my P car buddies. So that would be near $6k. Still $3200 cheaper. No sales tax. i can post a copy of it if anyone wants to see it.
thanks,
sid

504.352.8796 is his cell. just text him your vin and he'll send back the price options.
He said his system wouldn't let me get the $250 deductible but to be honest, for $5400, i didn't care. Remember if you are paying with credit card then you'll have to pay 3% surcharge or you can mail him a check. If car is currently CPO then no physical inspection is required.
Thanks,
Sid
