Default 7-owner car - opinions?

I'm looking at an '06 Carrera S, 49k miles, clean Carfax, but 7 prior owners. Is good, so is there any reason to avoid the car? Any opinions on how this might affect the car's value? Or does it?

Thanks!

Sometimes single owners ping multiple owners when purchased off a lease, or was once a company car then purchased by the owner. Stuff like that. So, not always accurate. Depends on what you're looking at.

My car shows an owner for 1 month, but it was a private dealer. Some of that may be the case, but 7 seems high. Why did 6 or so people not love the car enough to hang on a while?

I don't think there's 7 people on the planet that are more **** about their cars then I am, so I would personally pass on a 7-owner car (of course, YMMV).

Price? Options? PPI done?
Lots of variables. For the right price for the right car, I may consider that history.

Its out of warranty... If the price is right, have it checked by a Porsche dealership, and if it checks out ok, don't worry about it. Not everyone that buys a Porsche likes the feel and ride which could explain multiple owners.

PPI checks out OK. Brake rotors are below minimum spec is the only real issue. DME seems OK:
R1 670 1507.2h
R2 99 1316.5h
R3 1 1316.5h

1589.6 total

The 7 owners I would use to negotiate the price. I mentioned it to my PPI contact and he went silent. But said not necessarily a problem. He threw out a 5% hit in value but was just guessing.

Even the salesman (car is at non-Porsche "exotics" dealer) said the only "problem" with the car was that it had 7 owners. The car is not an investment so if it is good and good price I don't mind many owners, but I am curious how it could affect my ability to sell it in the future because I would have to have it for a long time for it to no longer be a seen as an issue.

Any feeling about what the car is worth? See it HERE. Thanks!

You have any service records with the car?

Red Flag IMHO. As the 8th owner, it will affect your ability to sell it if you need to. A reassuring PPI helps, but even a good PPI can miss something small (like a strange cabin odor, odd squeak etc) that drives an owner crazy and forces him/her to sell. I'd research it carefully. M

I would be concerned it has not had proper service changing hands so many times. For instance, brake fluid flush due every 2 years. Sounds like nobody has ever owned it for 2 years, so they likely haven't had that done, among other things. If you had at least some service records I'd be OK with it, but otherwise no.

I like the look of the black wheels. I have the same car, but the wheels are not black. Looks good.

I can understand your concern with 7 owners. How many dealers have owned the car, out of the 7?

It could be the other way around...more services than needed. In my case, I usually conduct all the services even if it has been done. I immediately change the engine oil every time I buy a used car.

The lack of paperwork annotating it's maintenance history is a bigger red flag.
