I just noticed while detailing the interior over the weekend a slight pull on the dash leather ?! Not sure how long it has been like this... Car has 30k miles, has not seen extended sun exposure and has always been stored in a temperature controlled garage. Leather has been conditioned at least 2-3 times per season.
I was thinking of removing just that dash trim piece to have it repaired/recovered although it looks like the dash is all one piece and the removal seem more involved than I would like it to be....
Any one ever have this happen? What are my options?
Here are a few pictures I took in the garage. I will try and take better pictures in the sunlight when I can...
Are you still under warranty? If so, let the dealership fix it.
When I was at the porsche factory I got to see that process of stretching the leather for the dash. Can you get a dab of superglue and touch it up, without removing the dash? I know that is not the most professional repair, but gorilla glue makes a great superglue.

Regrettably no warranty. It's an 07 and has been off warranty for a while now. Every aspect of the car is in great condition... Not sure what would of caused this.
The leather is kind of flappy in that area and might be able to glue it back but I am not very confident with my glue skills... When using superglue I find I always get some everywhere BUT where I need to...
Maybe an upholstery shop can glue it for you at a reasonable cheap price, without making a mess.
My first thought would be the heat from the sun, when parking outside could allow the leather to shrink. At least her in Florida I would believe that would be the cause.
Agree with Captsteve123 ...take it to a good upholstery shop. They know how to deal with all the issues and might have a way to fix it properly so it stays put.....
