Default Vacuum Line from Airbox

Hi, there's a vacuum line coming from the underside of the airbox.

What is it used for?

Thanks

On the .1 airboxes there is a helmholtz resonator that actuates via that vacuum line. I can only presume the .2's are the same. Most don't prefer the resonator to be active as it decreases the 'sound' from the airbox. I have mine capped.

Not my car, but here you can see the resonator capped off.

It seems to connect to the 'cut-off valve' - I am not sure what this does.
