Default 220 Axle-Differential Lock Rear option

Is that a key option to look out for on purchasing 997?

I spoke with one dealer and he said that was a must have. I'm looking to buy a 997T 6spd and trying to figure out which are the ideal options.

Thanks,
Sid

not sure about the code but if you dont plan on tracking the car, and unless you are the type to "do a burn out at every stoplight, dude", then dont worry about it. you dont need LSD and you never will miss it.

Yes option code 220 is the Limited Slip rear Differential Lock. Was a $950 option on my 2009 C2S cab. My car is a daily driver, and I would probably not miss the LSD.

Its much harder to do a burnout with a limited slip because both tires will spin. With an open diferential, it will do, most of the times, a single wheel burnout. Limited slip is also more dangerous when you come out of a turn and the back and kicks out. This doesn't happen with an open difrential.

Track a stock Porsche limited slip a few times and they wear out...very very weak part.

thanks guys. well it looks like my search might be over. 07 997TT with 28k on it. 6 spd and only options were bose, chrono, floormats, multifunction steering wheel.

can the build sheet be wrong? it didn't indicate multifunction wheel but clearly i can see the buttons and telephone button on the steering wheel and it is carbon fiber. i also noticed when the sheet was ran everything comes up with 0 price. i also noticed the shifter is CF and that wasn't on the build sheet either.
