Window won't go down 1/4 inch
My issue is my window won't drop that 1/4 inch when you open the door from inside or outside. They window otherwise works fine. When you push on the glass it doesn't drop so I don't think it's the regulator. When you slightly pull the handle you can hear motor working it just doesn't move. Is this the microswitch that needs to be replaced? Thanks for help!

It may be as simple as performing the window reset procedure described in the owners manual under the section on Windows. I found it on page 26 of my manual:
Storing end position of the windows
If the battery is disconnected and reconnected,
the windows will not be raised automatically when
the door is closed.
1. Close the windows with the rocker switch
once.
2. Press the rocker switch upwards again to store
the end position of the windows in the control
unit.
At least attempting this is cheap and worth trying before going to more expensive things!

Does 997 share a common design with 996? On 986/996, this is a common issue with wear and slack within the voltage regulator that usually seems to end in replacing the window regulator.

If the windows had been working fine before, and just recently you noticed the behavior, it could be a battery issue. How old is the battery? I noticed a strange window behavior similar to what you noted. Mine was periodic but still noticeable. I also noticed the starting of the car was a bit longer than normal, a few more crannks. So I replaced my battery and that fixed both problems.
If your battery is new or newish (less than 2 years old) check the charge on it and verify it is good. Might also try to disconnect it for an hour and reconnect it. Then reset the window end positions as noted above. Good luck.
