Default adding the sport chrono package

Hello everyone , I'm relatively new here, love this forum. I want to apologize if you guys already talked about this ( I could not find anything among the threads)

I have a 2012 4 S cab PDK (997) with no Sport chrono package. I am interested in adding the package to my car. My questions are, Is that a reasonable task? and How much would that cost approx. ???

Thanks ,

You can add the software and Sport/Sport+ buttons, but not the clock on the dash. This would get you Launch Control, more aggressive shift points (when desired), revised throttle mapping, etc...

It's available for $1200 from Suncoast, plus installation.

it will make a world of difference in your PDK's behavior. I'm certain you will like it. You can also buy it straight from your dealership as it is listed as a tEquipment upgrade item.

It is listed at $1266 for PDK cars on the Tequipment site, so going through SunCoast doesn't save you much and you'll need the dealer to enable the installation in any case. If you are in the PCA, some dealers offer discounts that may even make the dealer cheaper.

If you go the OEM route, your upgrade will most likely be covered under your existing warranty, I would think.

"World of difference" is an understatement. No one should have a PDK car without the tranny and throttle improvements the software or SC package provide.

With that said, the software does not give you all of the timer and other bells and whistles, nor does it give you a case of warts, but that stuff has not been missed by me. You get all of the fun stuff, without the fru-fru stuff.

Thanks for your input guys, I'm going to do it. I didn't realize the package was such an improvement.

Shouldn't be optional. But Porsche is as Porsche does, charges for everything.

That is true Chris. My car was allocated to a Chicago dealership in 2012, with a sticker(msrp) of 124,900.

So in Germany, at the plant ,someone clicked on almost every box except the "sport Chrono Package"?

WTF, I would fire that guy!! lol

I was at the Macan intro last week, I must of saw 5 new 911s,a couple 997, and 3 991s without the sport chrono package. Unbelievable. It should be standard on all PDKs.
