Default Slotted rotors for 2009 C4S

Hi,

After 10,000 miles and maybe 10 track days my cross drilled rotors are starting to crack and need to be replaced. Does anyone have a good source for slotted front rotors for a 2009 C4S that don't break the bank?

Thanks

What were you using before? We offer Sebro Slotted. More options for Cross Drilled though. For more information Click Here.

I am just about to replace mine after 28K miles, and a dozen track days. The cracks developed a while back and as long as the hairline cracks are not connected between holes you're ok.

Unfortunately, the options for slotted is limited, unless you completely move to a 2-piece rotor setup which is $$$.

Girodisc's two piece slotted are working out well for me. Initial cost will be near bank breaking territory but after the first set you're just buying the disc and mounting hardware. I'm paying around $400 per set of fronts. They last at least twice as long as OEM cross drilled, have more surface area and much better cooling. They brake much better. I did front and rear so check with them if you would just do fronts to make sure there won't be any front to rear balance issues. I put just front PFC two piece slotted rotors on my old 996 and they were fine with the OEM rears.

If you do go two piece, ask if they require a spacer. Giros do (11 or 12mm I believe) so you'll want longer bolts for your caliper. I track a lot as well so I went with studs of the appropriate length. Iron bolts, aluminum uprights, lots of heat and periodic caliper removals can be a bad combination. I found out the hard and expensive way. Best of luck whichever route you choose!

Here are your options:
1. You can buy Sebro slotted Rotors in many places including Pelican parts and even Amazon for less then $200/ps
Here is Sebro part number # 909331. It is for left side. I have confirmed that by talking with Sebro rep in Germany.
2. Have Coleman Racing make you slotted rotors and hats. Initial investment for a hat about $270 and then just buy rotors for $140/ps

I would say put slotted rotors in the rear, for front it is better to use oem from suncoast.

Have you tried the Sebro? Are they any good?

I am just about to pull a trigger. Have been using drilled Sebro for a while. They are OEM suppliers just like Zimmerman. I was told by Sebro tech that they should last longer. I am also thinking to put a more aggressive pad at the rear to equalize braking. Also GT2 brake duct should help.

Have tracked Sebro slotted heavily while using Pagid RS29 and RS19, no issues so far.

Nothing wrong with the Sebro slotted rotors. Easy to get, reasonably priced and one piece like OEM, so if you are club racing, no class bump for running a 2-piece. I've used them on a 6 Cup and so far so good. 1 race weekend with 3 sprints and an enduro, and two DE weekends with PF08 pads and no issues, cracking etc.

If you all really want a nice brake upgrade that is easy to do...swap small 4 piston stock front calipers for 6 piston GT3/Turbo front calipers and use Turbo offset 350mm rotors. You can use low cost aftermarket or the nice Giro disc.

Those that hear about using ultra low cost Cayenne rotors.....those are not correct offset rotors unless you change your uprights to GT3 uprights. Carrera/Turbo uprights are different and use different offset rotor so you Carrera guys if you change to 6 piston GT3/Turbo calipers just use rotors for Turbo cars.

I tried for the first time Luk Schaffer brake rotors, and I must say they are amazing, especially for the price. I put them on my C4S 06, got Black XD Brake kit with premium carbon semi metallic pads
