Default Removing Spoiler Brake Light

Went on a 100 mile drive this weekend, hit faster than normal speeds but all was well. Took the car out again today and as I was walking behind it noticed an additional brake light literally hanging out my closed spoiler, dangling from the connection. It had been there for a while yesterday judging from the scuffs on the paint on the bumper. I detached it, raised the spoiler and stuffed the connection in the hole and closed it back up. Looking at it I can't figure out what it connects to when it goes back in. I don't see any screws or clips or anything. I searched the site and found the link below. The last PDF on the second or third post says "Removing auxiliary brake light in rear spoiler" but then it cuts off before the details. Anyone know how to do this and what I need to put it back together? Thanks.

Same thing happened to me when I dropped off my car at the dealer last year. My spoiler light was hanging out and dealer said the clip was not available separately and I needed an entire new light assembly or I could fabricate a clip. It was at the dealer and I didn't want to mess with it so I had it replaced and never researched alternatives.

Same thing just happened to me.

Looked at the back of the car the spoiler brake light is just hanging there.

Any option other than buying a new one?

Thanks
Ty

Black zip-ties did the trick.

Very secure, completely hidden, and I can cut them if I ever need to get the light out.

Thanks
