Four pictures are worth a thousand dollars at the dealership.
On my 944 Turbo, the pads were the same size front and back, I seem to remember.
Also no torx needed. Pliers only on the star, pinch pad spring clip. Maybe a flat head screw driver to push the pistons back.
Nice cardboard on the back of the nicely painter Brembo trick

those caliper bolts need to be replaced, not reused, correct?

thanks for posting this. I didnt realize the 997.2 had the bar across the top that requires the caliper to be removed till I read this. 997.1 didnt have it and break job was 1 step quicker

good job. IIRC the calipers on the 997.2 S and GT3 do not have the cross bar and hence do not to be removed. It must be different on the BASE model???

thanks for your DIY

I believe that's a base model in the photos - the S models have red calipers ?

Something I did not know- the REAR calipers have a crossbar while the fronts do not.

How come you didn't install new rotors with the new pads?

No need to change rotors unless they are below minimum thickness or have cracks that meet certain criteria. Changing rotors every time you change pads is a waste of money IMHO.

Yep base model you have to remove the caliper to change pads. On the S brakes caliper stays on and you just pull the pin holding the pads to the caliper.
On the GT3 front caliper can stay on but rear caliper has to come off to change pads. Not eh 991 cars calipers have to come off to change pads.
