Default Texas State Inspection

S it necessary to have your 997 inspected at the dealer? Been to two inspection sites and neither could get a reading on their computer from the under-dash connection? Suggestions ?

Nope, not necessary. I just had my TX state inspection completed on saturday at a quick lube place in DFW and they didn't have any problem connecting to my car.

Possible faulty OBD2 port perhaps?

After speaking with the dealer the car had not been driven enough the previous few days for the reading to output. Guess I drive then inspect. Thanks

As mentioned above - there is no reason to go to the dealer, but I have had this experience as well at a few stations. I found one I like and I use this guy every year now.
