grey interior / color question
Went to my local Porsche dealer to see some colors in person.
One color they didn't have is the aqua blue metallic, which looks amazing in pictures online. I also love midnight blue. But I really don't like the look of the grey leather, which invariably the aqua blue seems to be matched with.
1) Is the grey awful in person? It reminds me of my wife's old Sienna.
2) Why are almost all the blue cars I find online paired with grey?
To be honest I'm partial to a more natural color for leather interiors, but I know there is no accounting for taste.

This isn't a great pic, but my opinion is bi-color is great way to go with the Aqua Blue. I had the same concerns as you, hjles, and was really happy to find an Aqua Blue with bi-color full leather. The contrast really adds a nice touch in my opinion. Someday I may go a bit further and add some black to the center console pieces to increase the contrast. Black, of course, is a nice color too.
Of course I'm biased since this is my car.

The reason you see so many Aqua/Stone Grey cars is that this was one of the colors used on the 997.2 "launch" cars, which were pre-configured by Porsche and delivered to the dealers when the new models were released. I think this was the color combo for the cabriolet launch cars, while the coupes got Porsche Racing Green, and the C4S coupes got Meteor Grey.

I was all set on a black interior when my search was going on almost 4 years ago now. In my mind that was the only option.
However, when I came across a Cobalt Blue, which I'd never seen before, that had a stone grey interior my opinion changed.
It certainly wasn't my first choice, but I actually liked it when I saw it. In fact if I was ordering new today, and going with a similar blue, I'd probably spec a grey interior. In my humble opinion, the grey goes well with blue.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I need to see the grey in person. I'm going to take a 3 hour drive either this weekend or next weekend down to Porsche Beachwood, and get a better idea of all the colors and combinations. My local dealer just doesn't have that much.
Dave, I love that blue! One color I know wouldn't work for me:

Grey interior looks awesome on Blue IMO. When purchasing my 911 I told myself that I HAD to have black interior because my two previous cars of ten years had gray. I ended up with Cocoa brown.... Just get what you like (you'll know when you see it).... I would keep my mind open if I were you

did they discontinue sea blue interior on the aqua blue p-cars? i have sea blue interior and i felt it matched the exterior quite nicely actually. it believe it belongs in the 'stone grey' family of colors.

Nat Brown works with Blue, as does the lighter beige, and black, of course.
