I cant wait to see the finished project. Looks like you will have a nice P-car when all is done.

Amazing! I didn't think people on Rennlist did build threads.

This reminds of the posts seen on classic ford and chevy truck sites. Build threads on those forums are incredible, typically one part engineering, one part artistry, and one part jury-rigged seat-of-your-pants ingenuity.

I found out that I didn't have the skills, so I ended up selling my 1st gen Blazer. Hats off to you!

I'm sure you do this all the time, but be careful with cinder blocks. They are designed for even weight distribution. A pointy suspension arm on the block may crack it. At least put a thin piece of wood under there! I have done lots of basement work. A few blows with a wedge hammer and it breaks in half.

Kudos on your rebuilt attack. Appreciate the build thread and the photo's.

I had a cousin lose his life because of using cinder blocks. He was under the car and the block cracked in half. Please don't use them at all.

Wow, this is SOO far outside my realm of talent. Nice work, so when you say the car will cost maybe $23000, what would you normally pay for that car. I have a very similiar 2005 C2 Basalt black over tan with 35,000 miles. A cream puff but we paid on the high side I guess at $43 grand.

The value of the Porsche 997 is hard to determine!
I think you've had a good price for your car, whereas it is the Carrera S and that it doesn't have a lot of mileage! Not a big deal, but ok!

For what is the value of my car once it will be repaired, it is hard to determine because in Canada there is not much of these cars.
A non salvage Carrera 2 like me in Canada must sell approximately 39000$ CAD, so in US Dollar is around 35000$
I should be able to get 33000$ CAD ($30000USD) for it because of my salvage title...
I save more than $10000USD by rebuilding the car myself. (A part of the cash down for my first house )

The house is not mine yet but I made an offer to purchase on it!

That's truly admirable! You're striving to secure the dream of home and p-car ownership by means of your own sweat equity. All at a very early age in life... Semper Fi to you sir!
