Dension 500 SBT - Bumperplugs
Just installed the Dension 500 SBT in my 997.1 base. Hats off to Eric the chief plug guy @ Bumperplugs. Excellent customer service. Quick shipping, tech support and just a good guy to do business with. Finally Pandora and iPod in my Porsche.

Did you do the install yourself? Was it easy?

+1 for Eric
I purchased my Dension 500 SBT Dual from Eric at BumperPlugs for my 2006 997.1 Cab. Sport in December 2012, where it sat in the factory box until November Thanksgiving Holiday 2013 when I finally got the courage to install. It ended up quite easy actually...just have to read the directions. The only thing I had done for me, was had a local shop fish the wires thru the firewall, and supply a hot wire. I did the rest. Once hooked up and got used to how the "Menu" functions, then all I did was apply a firmware update downloaded from the Dension website....then "music to my ears!!!!" Pandora and a Bose that now sounds like a Bose.

Guys just purchased the 500SBT fr Eric. Does anyone have an Indy referral in the Dallas area with experience on this install? Do I have to go to dealer for head programming. Plano Porsche quoted me 6 hrs @ $150 per. Seems a bit extreme to me. Local PCA guys gave me leads but none that had 500SBT experience. Eric is also checking and unit is on the way.

I did do the install myself. It took me 2 1/2 hours of actual work. I spent several hours researching you tube, rennlist and reading the material Eric sent me. If a shop in Plano is going to charge you six hours you better think twice about using them for anything.
