Default airbag fault code

I got an airbag system fault alert when I started my 2005 C2 after several days of sitting in very cold weather. My Indy checked it out and the code indicates failure of one of the passenger air bags. He is too busy to take it in to repair until next week.

He thought that as long as that fault is being displayed all of the airbags are automatically deactivated, but he wasn't certain of that. Does anyone know if this is the case? If so, I will park it until he can do the repair.

I do believe he is correct. I know that other cars behave in the same manner (bmw ect). I think it is to prevent a inadvertent explosion of the other airbags.
