Default Question about Fabspeed 200 Sport cats

For the past 18 months I have been running Fabspeed Maxflo mufflers with the factory cats on my 997.1 C2S. Nice sound and no complaints. But can we ever be satisfied with status quo?

What are your thoughts regarding Fabspeed x pipe 200 cell sport cats. Will the noise level be significantly greater? Any power increases? Any drone?

Or should I just leave well enough alone!

Thoughts on this set up and if you have it, what are your experiences ?

Many thanks.

Mark

Hopefully we have some users here that will chime in so you can get a consumer review. I will say however that the sport cat X-pipe makes an excellent addition to the Maxflo mufflers. It's not something that is too loud or is going to drone at all. If anything, the X-pipe would help eliminate any drone.

The best part of our sportcats are the X-pipe design. This links together both banks of the engine and that helps provide a much smoother, well rounded sound!

Mark,

The 997.1 Carrera S cars were restricted from the factory with the header design. I would take a look at swapping out headers before I did the sport cat X (unless you have X51 powerkit) - attached is a dyno of your same car (997.1 S), bone stock vs. Fabspeed Sport headers only. As you can see, gains everywhere, but especially the mid range torque. Gains gains up top were very nice as well.

What does it sound like inside the car with windows up at highway speeds and going through the gears. As I'm never out side my car when it's being driven.

200 cell cats with maxflo mufflers will be loud. I had it like that and reverted to stock mufflers. Loud enough to see how other people turn heads to look at you when you step on gas. With time it became annoying.

I found out my car has older style individual Fabspeed Sport cats with an otherwise Stock exhaust with PSE. I have no CEL issues, but as I never heard the car with the stock cats I can't comment on the difference other than to say I get very favourable comments on track days about the sound of my car compared to other cars. It is only noisy in the cabin upwards of 5.5K and I guess that's normal? Has a very good sound I think.
Next thing for me is Fabspeed headers but a very expensive proposition to import them to NZ.
