New to me 2006 C2S with GT3 factory aero kit
First off hello. This is my second porsche but have owned several higher end exotic sports cars. Bad economy forced sale of them back in 2010 and making a slow come back.
The specs on the car are as follows or at least as I know it:
Factory GT3 aero kit
Black black car
27k miles
Six speed
Full carbon interior kit
Guard red seat belts
Sport chrono
Multi function steering wheel.
Interpreted phone
High end Bose sound
Chrome exhaust tips.
Hopefully I can get some help with a few questions:
The phone is really not blue tooth correct? It seems worthless
I would like a louder exhaust. I use to straight pipe my murcialago and 430's and they sounded amazing. I saw fabspeed has a muffler delete for only $300. Will I loose throttle response or throw codes? Anyone recommend trying it. Saves 40lbs and sounds good on their website. Plus cheap ad could change back. Also thinking of getting a cold air intake.
Any other options for improved performance on a budget?,
Many thanks

Congrats, very stealthy!
Check out the "Gundo hack" on the stock exhaust. Cheap, but effective way to get great exhaust sound for minimal $$.

Love it! Congrats!
Not sure the full muffler bypass is where it's at. Do some searching. Seems I read it will lose some bottom end. Is the exhaust completely stock now?? You might poke around and see. The completely stock sounds it less than inspiring.

My phone works just fine. Nice car. Very different from your past rides. Will look forward to hearing you comparative impressions once you get the sound right.

Beautiful vehicle! Enjoy it
As others have said look at the Gundo mod for the exhaust. I have the Fister mod which is pretty much the same thing and it sounds great, so much better better than stock. I also have the Fabspeed bypass pipes and they are loud, but not really that much louder than the Gundo hack to me apart from when you get on it hard. I haven't made up my mind which I prefer yet though. If you like loud then the bypass pipes are for you. They do feel like you are losing a little low end torque, but you soon adapt your driving style to keep the revs higher and avoid lugging.
Here's a quick video showing the sound of the Fister mufflers;

AWE makes a nice exhaust system for the S. From what I have read on this forum the AWE with 200 cel cats, headers and the Gundo hack gives a great sound and a good increase in power. The 200 cell cats shouldn't throw a check engine light.
I have a C2 with a FVD exhaust (headers and 200 cell cats) which has a great sound and gave me a small bump in hp. I've had real good results with FVD and always recommend them
Congrats on the new car!

That car is my twin
Did you get it at the mercedes dealer in wilsonville. I recognize the picture s but the car they had was listed as tiptronic so maybe im wrong. If you are close to portland we could get together because i have the gundo hack and it's plenty loud for me but you could judge for yourself. Easy to know if muffler bypass is too loud for you, just remove the mufflers for the gundo and turn on the engine. If it's to your liking just don't put back the exhaust and get the bypass pipes

Thanks
I appreciate all the replies and advise. buddamonk , I was at cars and coffee at Bridgeport or close to this morning. tim at 503 motoring is a good buddy of mine maybe we could meet there some Sat. Yes this is the car at Mercedes Wilsonville and it was a stick not a tip.
After talking to tim we will do front and rear LEDs , an ECU flash, cold air intake and either the hack of fabspeed bypass pipes exhaust delete.
Thanks again. Loving the car so far. Very quick and nimble

I really think that gundo + sports 20 cell cat would be the best combination of sound and cost. Muffler bypass is cheap but too loud for 80% of people I've seen comment on it. The drone at highway speed apparently gives people headaches. From my research, the intake mod doesn't do much for sound or performance but can be a nice aesthetic component.
Would love to hear it if you end up getting bypass pipes because I've considered it before going with the gundo hack.
I'm glad you were able to get the 6MT because it is just fabulous!
Maybe I'll try to go to the westside C&C next week. I was there last week and didn't stay long because there were just a few cars and the guys stayed inside sipping coffee.
