I guess it depends on the dealer. Mine suggested it as they also suggested super sports but since they aren't Porsche approved, they didn't arty them.

I understand that Porsche dealers sources their tires from PCNA thru their wholesale contract with TireRack. The dealer was even cheaper on the PS2s than TR. I assume that sourcing non N rated tires is not available from the dealership channel.

My local dealer can get them but they take longer than I am usually willing to wait. I purchased road hazard and switched to Michelin PSS and the dealer would take 2-3 weeks to get the tire in. I started ordering the tire myself and have the road hazard comapny reimburse me for the tire. It requires extra work to guarantee they will pay me but I have the tire installed in 2-3 days as opposed to weeks. It seems that my dealer would want to stock the tire as many of the customers purchase the PSS instead of the PS2.

Not sure dealers would sell MPSS as they are not N rated. They would install your non N rated tires but suspect that is as far as they would go.

I was told 200 for the alignment at the dealer in Florida. Then another 25 per tire for corner/balancing I believe. Sounds reasonable.

How does that compare to dealerships in your regions?

I would pay NZ$140 for alignment and $50 for balance. Sounds about the same?

Very reasonable.

My dealership charges closer to $300 for an alignment and $50 per corner for tire install and road force balancing.

Very fair price for dealership.

So it sounds like many of you run 305's on your stock wheels in narrow body cars?

I am about to order in a few weeks and was wondering if I could go 305 on my lobster forks...

I have 18mm spacers and my 295's are already nice and flush but I love that wide rear look.

Please advise,

John

I installed H&R lowering springs recently and then had Byers Porsche in Columbus Ohio do an alignment and install my winter tires as well as flushing the brake fluid. $150 for the tire install and $150 for the alignment. Could not be happier with this dealer. Top Notch!!

Do you trust non-dealer tire shops to install road force balanced tires..or are they likely to screw up. What about TPMS, are tire shops able to deal with those.
P.S. My previous non p-car was purchased in 2001, when TPMS was not around!.

That's a nice deal.

BTW Did you happen to stop in their showroom? Byers had some sweet GT3's in Dupont Registry's December issue.

I've been to that dealer 6-8 times and every time I go they have 3-5 newer gt3's. It really does cause drooling!! There is another Porsche dealer that is actually closer to me but they also sell Bentley, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Lotus, and others. They don't focus on the Porsche because they so many other exotics.
