PDK: how many seconds after hitting the paddle should the gear shift?

My first porsche and non manual car. Anyway, everyone talks about how the PDK is "best in the market", and does < 200ms shifts. However, I swear my brothers BMW 335i DCT shifts much faster.
On my PDK, even in sports+ mode, when up-shifting, it takes about a second after hitting the paddle shifter before it shifts gear. Is this normal? (I can't recall the down-shift speed but doesn't seem as slow)
Also, while at standstill, I can do small quick blips up to 1.5k rpm without the car moving forward. I assumed this is a normal behavior of the clutch but thought I would ask.
Car is 997.2 4 GTS.
Added video of my car and my brothers 2013 BMW 335i for comparison.
Not the best camera skills, I intentionally hit the paddle shifters loud so you can hear them in the vid. Notice the time difference between the click from paddles and the rpm change.

Thanks!

The actual shift is quick on my C2S, but I do have some lag between the paddles and the beginning of the shift when using the steering wheel paddles. I don't think it would be a second though. The stick shifter seems quicker or seems to have less lag.
Yes, just like a manual, my car does have some rpm lag before the clutches engage. I notice it after backing out of the garage then pulling away in drive.

FWIW, I found the delay in the new PDK to be quite objectionable, and ended up buying an older 6MT.

I did feel the same thing about the stick, but I assumed its just a perception thing due to the stick shifter having a longer throw.
I will be taking the car to the dealer and will see what they say. I was just hoping to arm myself with knowledge first.

Not sure why there should be such a delay, unless the brain of the PDK is super slow to determine the right gear, or calculate the blip value, etc...
This is something that seems to have been addressed in 991, as reviews say it is better, while the transmission hasn't changed at all, the electronics might have improved.

I have a 2011 'base' with PDK and paddles. Its super quick, only time I experience a minor delay is shifting into reverse out of the garage-otherwise we are talking micro seconds. Exactly as advertised for me.

If I am not mistaken the shift times are also related to throttle and rpm. If you are not in the sweet spot (upper rpm, and accelerating) then the lag time is increased. If you are ready to unleash it, quicker than a manual (well at least me using a manual).

I have a 2009 C4S PDK.
When none of the "sports" buttons are pressed, the gear change is already *very* quick (I'd say waaaaaay less than 1/2 second, with "Sport" mode pressed it goes to super-quick.
I'd advise the OP to bring the car in for service, there's something not right

In my 2010 C4S there is a slight lag with paddles in normal mode - both up and down shifts, almost no lag with stick; in sports + zero lag with paddles or stick but one caveat is in sports + I do not start an upshift until high rpm. I'll try a lower rpm in sports + and see it's slower.
