Default New to 997

I am new to the 997 as I have had a 996 turbo in the past. I am looking at C2s/C4s and wondered if there are any years to stay away from or problems to look out for. Thanks

997.1 (2005 - 2009) vs. 997.2 (2010-2012). Different engines is the biggest difference, the .1 having the oh-so-wonderful sounding M97 engine with its RARE intermediate shaft bearing issue (engine go boom) Vs. the .2 new DFI engine with 40% less moving parts and no IMS, and alas, not quite the wonderful wail.

C2S, wonderful light front end, C4S all-wheel drive, slighly heavier in the front-end, sexier wider read wheel arches.

What's your budget?

Don't forget about the excellent 997 Twin Turbo as well. Early 2007's coming down in prive.

I believe the 997.2 started with the 2009 model year, not 2010.
