Went to change the battery and the hood kept falling.
Thanks as always.

That seems like a good price. I was looking at various places to get the best price. I've started to notice mine are getting weak too. I wonder if the cold weather exacerbates the problem.

A couple of months ago I found that just one of mine was weak, so just replaced it and everything has been fine since. I don't think it has anything to do with the weather. Some just fail due to age and use.

You were so right Windy City, very easy, just opened the clips w/ a small screwdriver and they came off and went on very easy.
Now the hood works great! Thx

i had mine replaced last spring by porsche of colorado springs under warranty. i think i was at around 30k miles on a 2007. i got tired of getting bonked on the head while dropping in groceries (the looks you get in the parking lot doing this) or grabbing my gym bag.

Seems to be the case with my Turbo. The front trunk lid struts were just fine this summer but the cold weather had the thing dropping on my head a time or two until I got wise to its ways.

I haven't ordered new struts yet but a few months ago I replaced the struts on my Boxster's rear lid and it took just a minute or two per strut.

What I'll probably due is order the struts for the Turbo front trunk lid and leave then on the passenger seat when I take the car in for an oil/filter service and the tech will replace the struts for me. If he doesn't I can do it no problem.
