Default Winterization - brake pad question?

I just took the car in for changing the wheels/tires to winter setup, as well as to replace my bucket seats with comfort seats.

I have Ferodo 2500 pads on the car that I use during summer and track days. They work great on track, and in summer after the first brake they do fine... and usually go with OEM pads for winter.

Problem is, my rotors are shot, in need of new ones (will do summer), and my Ferodo pads won't last for another tack day, but will be fine during winter (while the squeal a bit, and need to get up to temp for best braking). Shall I spend the $$ to swap out to OEM pads? or just keep these for winter and swap out to new set of pad/rotors in summer?

Thanks

Why not put new rotors on now and do the "winter pad" change now? Then just add the freddos in the summer?

Good point, but it's too late now, they're done already! I will live with these for winter and swap em all out during summer and will keep OEM for next year. Oh well.

How shot are the rotors? They would not last 1000 kms?
Depends how may Km's you'll be doing this winter?
If your going to put 10,000 kms on you car this winter, change your rotors and pads.
If the rotors could last another 5000 kms and you drive 2000 kms. Toss the Ferodo's on now, have the new shinny rotors and pads put on in the spring.

warning thread highjacking:

Hey guys, I'm in the same boat, 06 c2 with worn rotors and low pads.

with so many choices of rotors and pads what do you guy suggest for someone who doesnt track, but rather uses the car as a year round daily driver parked outside?

Anyone have any experience using carbon pads on coated steel rotors?

I assume I have the cheapest pads available on there now, and they are super dusty on my sport designs.

I was hoping the carbon pads might cut down on the brake dust.

Any advice?

thanks
